Hi, I’m Andrew.

I’m a therapist who helps teens navigate the anxieties that come with life’s biggest challenges. If you’ve always been the “strong performer," you already know how exhausting it is to constantly try to meet your own high standards. Whether you’re struggling to make the right decisions or you keep finding yourself in fights with friends and family, it helps to have someone who gets you and will help you sort through what’s actually going on.

During our sessions, we’ll dive into the hidden thought patterns you’re unaware of, look into the messier parts of life, and develop skills to make life a little easier to handle.

The teens I work with describe me as easy to talk to and relaxed. Their parents describe me as professional and insightful. I work especially well with teens under pressure of academic success, navigating changing relationships, and starting to explore their independence.

With a background as a high school educator, as well as in college mental health counseling and residential programs, I’ve helped teens tackle everything from self- doubt and anxiety to complex relationship and family dynamics.

I know being a teen today is no easy task. Bouncing between the commitments of school, family, and friends is hard enough, even without that internal pressure you're putting upon yourself.

Most adolescents I work with are:

  • Having trouble adjusting to the demands at school
  • Rapidly cycling through friendships or relationships
  • Feeling isolated, even when surrounded by friends
  • Can't figure out what the next stage of their life will look like

They also might have a deeper, more subtle feeling of dread that they can’t seem to shake, even when everything seems fine on the outside.

Whether you’re wrestling with anxiety, relationship struggles, identity questions, or the feeling that you should have everything figured out, but don’t, therapy gives you the space to explore yourself more deeply and learn skills that can help you navigate daily life.

You don’t have to perform or explain. You get to be your true self, look beneath the surface, and finally make sense of what's really going on.

Beyond the Credentials

I love to get exercise. Whether it is walking my dog, training for my next marathon, doing pilates or playing soccer, moving my body is my favorite way to melt the stress away!

What do you do to de-stress?

Over the past few years, I have gotten into making my own espresso. Drawing my own espresso shot as part of my morning routine makes me feel grounded and ready to start my day strong.

What’s a small, random thing that instantly makes you feel safe or at home?

I love my Garmin smartwatch for tracking my exercise! I think everyone could benefit from a Garmin watch.

If you had to be a spokesperson for a completely random brand or product, what would it be?

Andrew might serve me the same bland food everyday, but he also serves up a great time! From relaxing on his couch together to going on long walks by the water, Andrew always makes sure I am taken care of and happy. As a rescue, I did not have the best life before meeting Andrew; however, I have been a pampered pup for the last 6 years thanks to him. 5 out of 5 stars!

Your pet (or an imaginary pet) just wrote a Yelp review about you. What does it say?
