We understand what it’s like to live in a mode where slowing down feels uncomfortable or irresponsible.

So you keep soldiering on, hoping that your next vacation or promotion or finally reaching that light at the end of the tunnel will make it all worth it.

  • Is your anxiety simultaneously your superpower and the very thing holding you back?
  • Do you feel guilty when you rest, prioritize yourself, or say “no” to others?
  • Are you successful and driven, but still can’t call yourself happy?

Constantly over-giving and under-receiving has left you feeling untethered and exhausted. (And despite what some may believe, there’s no nobility in burnout.) Running on empty might feel normal, but that doesn’t mean it’s good for you.

New Yorkers come to us when they’re:

Under unrelenting pressure

Overthinking every interaction

Burnt out

Going 1000mph and can’t seem to slow down

Checked out of work

Feeling disconnected from others

Unfulfilled by life

Our therapists help you break free from the patterns that keep you stuck.

Suffering from panic attacks or chronic stress

What Therapy With Us Is Like

We specialize in working with New Yorkers who have realized that things aren’t going to get better on their own.

Through deep, gently challenging therapy, we help ambitious New Yorkers like you quiet the noise, recognize your blind spots, and build emotional resilience so you can actually feel as happy as you’ve been performing for everyone else.

We start by getting clear on what’s not working and what you want instead. From there, we combine insight with action so therapy leads to real change, not just more awareness.

Motivational interviewing

3 Steps to Get Started

Ready to Finally Prioritize Yourself?

How do I know if therapy would actually help me?

Many people who come to therapy are functioning well on the outside but feel worn down internally. If stress, anxiety, or dissatisfaction feel constant rather than situational, therapy can help you understand what’s driving that pattern. For people living high-pressure lives, therapy often becomes a space to slow down, think clearly, and regain perspective.

What kinds of stress brings New Yorkers to therapy?

People often seek therapy due to work pressure, relationship strain, loneliness, or feeling disconnected despite being surrounded by others. Financial stress, career comparison, and limited time to rest can also quietly compound emotional strain. Therapy provides space to unpack these pressures without having to minimize or rationalize them.

How do people fit therapy into their busy schedules? I’m already stretched thin as it is.

Therapy is about prioritizing yourself and thinking about yourself, instead of everyone else vying for your attention. If you’re busy, you likely won’t be able to “find” the time for therapy, so you’ll have to make the time. We offer virtual therapy so you can meet from the office (as long as you’re in a private space), or in-person therapy if it’s easier to leave your apartment.

How do I know if I’m making progress?

Sometimes progress will be obvious (i.e. you’re in a significantly better mood) and sometimes it will be more nuanced. LightLine therapists adopt a strength-based approach to identify and bring attention to these positive changes, small or large. After all, the small steps pave the way for larger ones. The evidence of growth and change will be most apparent when there is a trusting, authentic relationship between you and your therapist.

What makes LightLine Therapy a good fit for people with demanding lives?

LightLine Therapy is designed for people who are thoughtful, capable, and used to pushing through. We offer a direct, insight-driven approach that respects your intelligence and your time. Therapy here isn’t about venting endlessly, but about understanding patterns, acting upon self-awareness, and creating meaningful change.
