Hey there.

I’m Jacob, a therapist specializing in helping men, entrepreneurs, and high-achievers figure out where to go next and what to do when they get there. Until you know what direction to go, you’re just going around in a circle, giving a desultory wave to the same sights each time you pass.

Because you’re you and you’re so used to having your shit together, being here looking for a therapist feels kind of…odd. And if you really wanted to, you probably could keep pushing through on your own. But deep down, something would still be missing, a piece out of line with that meticulous exterior you’ve crafted for yourself.

You know yourself well enough to understand that you can’t settle for the status quo. You’re constantly reaching for something more, yet held back by impossibly high expectations, fear of what others might think, and limiting self-beliefs.

My job is to help you unravel the complicated, call out the excuses you tell yourself, and identify the barriers holding you back from living the life you really want to live. My job is to help you develop the power to take a chance and make real change in your life.

So if you need more than a safe and supportive environment, and you’re tired of wasting time trying to solve things on your own, I’m your person.

I Specialize In:

Get to Know Jacob

Know it’s time for a change, but unsure what that is?

I know that real change is hard, because I’ve been there.

My first job in New York City was as a bartender (just another kind of therapist) where I learned how to make an exceptional margarita and mojito.

I then found my way into the business world, marketing for various tech companies until they were either acquired, collapsed, or decided my services were no longer required—sometimes all three at once. It was a real game of corporate musical chairs, and I spent a lot of time standing.

So I eventually took a step back and realized that things weren’t going to get better on their own. I needed to make a real change or I would continue down this path of resenting my work, my bosses, and most of all, myself.

After years and years of more schooling and training, I now help people untangle their patterns, identify their blind spots, and connect their external success with internal happiness. I became a therapist so I could build real connections with people and help them find their own version of change and fulfillment.

Beyond the Credentials

I usually play in a few different recreational soccer leagues in an attempt to cling on to my college athlete days. I’m also on a mission to keep an ever-growing assortment of houseplants alive, while constantly scouting for new corners to squeeze them into.

What do you do to de-stress?

Washing my sheets, making the bed, and finally getting in—a freshly laundered victory, where I feel like both the guest at a five-star hotel and also the housekeeping staff.

What’s a small, random thing that instantly makes you feel safe or at home?

Wish he would take me to the park more than once a day. And don’t hold back on the tennis balls.

Your pet (or an imaginary pet) just wrote a Yelp review about you. What does it say?

SimpleHuman trash can. Overpriced? Yes. But does it make taking out the trash just a little more bearable? Absolutely.

If you had to be a spokesperson for a completely random brand or product, what would it be?

Depending on my mood, it’s either The Big Picture, Heavyweight, or This American Life (classic).
