Thoughtful Therapy for
People Who Think a Lot

Thoughtful Therapy for People Who Think a Lot

Flatiron is home to people who spend their days analyzing, strategizing, creating, advising, and solving problems. Those skills will take you far professionally. They will also make it tempting to approach your personal life as one more work problem you should be able to figure out.

And most likely, you've already figured out a lot.

You know you're a perfectionist and that you “overthink” and you can recognize when you're people-pleasing and apologizing again and again. You may even know where those patterns come from.

And yet, you still find yourself doing them.

At LightLine, therapy isn't simply about developing more self-awareness. We help you understand what your patterns are doing for you, why they're so difficult to let go of, and what needs to happen for something to actually change.

A Different Kind of Space to Grow

There's something useful about physically stepping away from the place where you spend most of your day.

Our office
at 276 Fifth Avenue is just north of Madison Square Park, close enough to walk from Flatiron while still giving you some separation from work. That short transition can make it easier to shift out of problem-solving mode and approach yourself with a different kind of attention.

Sometimes that separation makes it easier to have conversations that don't happen when therapy is another window open on the same laptop you've been staring at all day.

You don't have to cross Manhattan to create some distance from your workday. Sometimes a few blocks is enough.

A Short Walk from Flatiron: Our office is located at Fifth Avenue and 30th Street, just north of Madison Square Park.

Convenient Transit Access: We're minutes from the 28th Street (R/W), 28th Street (6), 33rd Street (6), and 34th Street–Herald Square (B/D/F/M/N/Q/R/W) subway stations.

Easy to Visit During the Workday: Come before work, step out during lunch, or schedule a session before heading home.

Daytime and Evening Appointments: A range of appointment times makes it easier to establish a consistent weekly rhythm.

Who We Work With

LightLine Therapy specializes in working with driven, self-aware people who have put in the time trying to figure things out on their own and are ready for a different kind of help.

If you feel that you are…

…then you are most likely the kind of person we work with.

More comfortable analyzing how you feel than actually sitting with the feeling

Past the point where another book, podcast, productivity system, or piece of generic advice feels particularly useful

Good at solving difficult problems for other people but strangely stuck when the problem is your own

Successful professionally, but less fulfilled personally than you expected to be

Able to understand your patterns intellectually, but unable to stop repeating them

About LightLine Therapy

LightLine Therapy is a psychotherapy practice in Manhattan serving thoughtful, high-achieving adults, couples, and adolescents who want more than temporary relief.

Our approach is insight-oriented, collaborative, and engaged. We don't assume that recognizing a pattern automatically changes it. Instead, therapy helps us look more closely at why the pattern persists, what purpose it serves, and what makes behaving differently so difficult when the moment actually arrives.

Each therapist at LightLine maintains a limited caseload so therapy remains sustainable, individualized, and deeply personal.

Make Space for
Something Different

If you're used to thinking your way through difficult problems by yourself, opening up to somebody you don’t know (yet) will likely feel unfamiliar and uncomfortable. But you don't have to get past that discomfort before therapy can begin. What comes up as you learn to trust someone can become an important part of the work.

Therapy gives you dedicated time to look at the parts of your life that don't respond as neatly to analysis, effort, or achievement, and to start doing something different with what you already know.

If you're looking for an in-person therapist in or near Flatiron, our office is just a short walk away.
