Tired of staring at your screen all day? Yeah, us too.
We offer in-person psychotherapy at our office at 276 Fifth Ave for professionals, entrepreneurs, expats, adolescents, and high-achievers who are ready to make a change in their lives. Our work is designed for people who feel successful, but are still not as happy as they want to be.
While online therapy works well for many people, others simply feel more engaged when they're sharing a room with somebody else instead of talking into a computer screen.
A dedicated space away from work and home
Fewer distractions and interruptions
Greater privacy
A stronger sense of connection and presence
A clear boundary between therapy and daily responsibilities
Relief from constant screen time and Zoom fatigue
The only “right” way to do therapy is the way that works best for you.
That said, in-person therapy often appeals to people who don’t have privacy at home, feel more comfortable talking with others face-to-face, or spend much of their lives in front of screens.
They tend to spend their days solving problems, managing deadlines, making decisions, and responding to constant demands. By the time therapy begins, they're often tired of another video call.
In-person therapy offers something different.
It creates a physical separation from work and provides a space where productivity isn't the goal. There are no presentations to prepare, no metrics to hit, and no expectation to have everything figured out.
It's simply a place to think, reflect, and understand yourself more deeply.

Most people come to therapy because their usual strategies aren’t working anymore.
They've pushed through stress, read the books, listened to the podcasts, and used work as a distraction from what’s really bothering them. And something still feels stuck.
Common concerns we help clients explore include:
When you’re constantly ruminating, playing out worst case scenarios, and can’t seem to focus on anything else.
When achievement becomes tied to self-worth and every mistake feels bigger than it should.
When you change careers, go through a breakup, move to NYC, or become a parent, and need a space to understand a new identity for yourself.
When your professional success starts coming at the expense of your energy, relationships, or sense of fulfillment.
When you just can’t seem to connect with your partner, or can’t find a partner to connect with in the first place.
When every day feels like tedious drudgery and all you want to do is throw your hands up and ask “what’s the point?”
Whether you're stepping into therapy for the first time or returning after years away, the office is designed to welcome you and whatever you're bringing into the room that day.
Therapy sessions can be insightful or challenging or funny or surprisingly ordinary.

Not necessarily. Both formats can be highly effective. Some people prefer the convenience of virtual sessions, while others find that being physically present helps them engage more deeply in the process. It’s just about finding what’s best for you.

Yes, we’re happy to see clients in-person or virtually depending on scheduling availability.
We have found that the best way to start therapy is with weekly sessions. This allows both you and the therapist to get comfortable with each other faster, better understand the challenges you’re going through, and develop more accurate treatment goals. If you would prefer to meet every other week, please discuss with your therapist and together you can figure out a plan that works for both of you and your goals.
Many clients come to us after previous therapy experiences that felt too passive, too surface-level, or lacking direction. Sometimes the issue isn't therapy itself. It's finding an approach and therapist that align with how you think, communicate, and process change.
If you’ve tried pushing through your struggles and found that willpower alone doesn’t solve them, psychodynamic therapy may be what you’ve been missing. At LightLine Therapy in New York City, we specialize in working with ambitious professionals who want more than quick fixes. Together, we’ll uncover the patterns that hold you back and build the clarity and resilience to move forward.
